CDW Infrastructure Architect - Managed Services in United States

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for creating and overseeing the Managed Services IT Architecture that supports the Managed Services Operations. This includes collaborating with other stakeholders to gather business requirements, then translating those requirements into a multiyear strategy that will support the ability to execute on current and future Managed Services offerings.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Responsible for the overall IT infrastructure architecture that supports the Managed Services business, including aspects of: Capacity management, Technology standards and integration of infrastructure components, Leadership of hardware/software standards

  • Responsible for design and architecture of remote-access solution needed to support Managed Services clients and partners

  • Responsible for supporting compliance efforts for PCI and SOC2 with respect to the

  • Managed Services IT infrastructure

  • Lead Infrastructure build and migration projects & drive to completion

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to derive a detailed understanding of Managed Services’ goals and objectives

  • Review and contribute on the direction of all significant Managed Services projects that affect the Managed Services Infrastructure

  • Document the current infrastructure and recommend future enhancements

  • Create and maintain a three year roadmap for Managed Services IT Infrastructure needs

  • Maintain Services BI enhancements & solicit feedback on their performance in an effort to continually evolve their use to higher levels of efficiency & effectiveness

  • Provide as needed updates on portfolio of key initiatives and their progress

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify, prioritize and validate project and technical requirements and business objectives

  • Distribute knowledge of Managed Services infrastructure throughout Services as needed

  • Predict emerging Managed Services needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them

  • Contribute to business justifications and return on investment measures for all significant projects

  • Act in concert with CDW’s compliance and governance teams in support of Services infrastructure

  • Be knowledgeable of ITIL best-practices and process development

  • Remain current in industry trends, emerging tools and best practices

  • Mentor and educate IT and business colleagues about discipline and requirements phase within development lifecycle

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or an IT, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 7 years’ experience in Infrastructure Architecture or related design or engineering roles

Other Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders

  • Demonstrated work experience in process definition including facilitation, process documentation, change control, and process improvement

  • Ability to effectively facilitate and lead meetings, tailoring messages to the given audience

  • Experience in evaluating information, identifying risks and opportunities, while possessing creative problem solving skills with an understanding of business concepts and models.

  • Proven ability to elicit project and system requirements

  • Demonstrated negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to enable mutually beneficial outcomes

  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines

  • Critical attention to detail and solid creative problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the business, organization and solutions that are the back bone of the organization

  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions, strategies and organizational direction

  • Working knowledge of data processing fundamentals including entity relationship diagrams, database models, structured application design and IT infrastructure (networking and hardware)

  • Ability to work in a high performing team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience as a Systems Architect or related field

  • Practical experience Azure and AWS

  • Familiarity with cost/benefit and ROI data analysis

  • ITIL Foundation certification

  • Infrastructure-focused Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification

  • Knowledge of Cisco network and technologies, CCNA(P), CCIE, Linux and Unix.

  • Knowledge of VMware Technologies - VCP
