CDW Manager, Sales Goals in Lincolnshire, Illinois

Job Description

The Sales Goals Manager is responsible for developing customer and coworker sales and profit goals which are used to motivate and compensate CDW’s account managers, the S3 Organization, and sales management. This position will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the goal-setting process. Also, the Sales Goals Manager will be a resource to the sales organization and other functional areas regarding sales goals and the process to generate them.

_ Key Areas of Responsibility_

Goal Process:

  • Work with sales leadership and IT to develop the annual and monthly goal process and/or needed modifications to the existing process

  • Answer questions in a timely manner as to how goals are derived and investigate specific requests from sales management and other functional areas

  • Coordinate the timing of the goals with Sales, Sales Ops, and IT

  • Manage the goal modification process to ensure goals align with sales leadership expectations and compensation plans yet still meet CDW’s annual financial plan objectives

  • Act as the sales goals lead and participate in special projects or meetings to convey the process, identify and solve goal-related concerns, and ensure coordination

  • Work closely with Sales Operations, Finance, S3 and Sales Leadership to ensure goals are tied to the company goals and financial plans

Goal Process Optimization:

  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity or improvement in the goal process to ensure that goals motivate sales personnel and align with CDW’s values

  • Drive IT projects around goal setting to conclusion

  • Conduct a bi-annual goal review that analyzes goal attainment across a number of different attributes to ensure that goals are fair

  • Work with sales leadership to adjust the annual goal-setting process

Goal Training and Communication:

  • Provide ongoing training to the sales organization on the goal generation process and how goals are developed

  • Create a cadence to sales leadership around goals and attainment

  • Communicate the goal timelines to sales management in order to increase understanding and visibility to goals

  • Build a shared vision on goals for the organization

  • Qualifications*

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree required (Finance or Business Administration preferred)

  • Previous experience training large group of 25 people or more

  • Sales and/or Sales Operations background preferred, but not necessary

  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • 5 + years’ experience with MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook. SQL, Cognos and Pyramid a plus.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented

_ Preferred Qualifications_

  • Previous goal or quota-setting experience preferred

  • Past experience working directly with IT departments

  • Technology industry experience
