CDW Manager, eCommerce Insights in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

This role is responsible for the insights function for the eCommerce team. Lead, direct and play active role in bringing analytical-grounded insights to leadership and product teams allowing for improved decision making for better business outcomes. Elevate the insights function to be a business driver as eCommerce delivers an improved online customer experience in order to grow CDW sales. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders to lead, develop and support key initiatives.

  • Key Areas of Responsibility*

OVERALL

  • Understand the drivers of eCommerce sales growth for all segments, product categories, implementations and purchase experiences. Continually refine this understanding with the single goal of telling clear and cohesive stories explaining results and trends to set strategy and tactics

  • Understand the role eCommerce plays in driving offline sales growth for all segments, product categories, implementation and purchase experience. This includes understanding the role of the CDW Account Manager and how eCommerce enables the Account Manager to drive sales growth. Continually refine this understanding with the single goal of telling clear and cohesive stories explaining results and trends to set strategy and tactics

  • Create a functional area which pro-actively brings prioritized eCommerce product area insights to product owners, product teams and leadership. Insights will act as basis for product discovery or as complete opportunity assessments leading to product changes tied to KPI’s

  • Work with financial planning and analysis to set annual eCommerce sales plans and monitor performance to plan on a day-to-day basis. Be prepared to explain reasons for year-to-date performance at any time

  • Lead by example. Be the best analyst on the team by continually developing skills, abilities and methodologies to get to accurate and actionable insights faster than any team member. Be a “player-coach” and deliver work for the team rather than fill an administrative role. Relentless seek data accuracy and quality to ensure insights are credible and lasting

  • Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, product and partner management and financial departments to (1) achieve total understanding; (2) tell a stories that hold up to actual results; and (3) leverage insights from these teams

  • Manage and develop team of analysts, including coaching and guidance, performance management and career development

FUNCTIONAL

  • Owns on-site web and mobile app analytic reporting, including identifying and tracking KPIs for on-site user flow, on-site funnel, page load, page scroll, and web feature engagement

  • Own traffic source analysis across device type, browser, location, and marketing channel across the funnel from homepage to category page to product page, cart and checkout, account center

  • Partner with Product team to report out on on-site A/B test performance

  • Use all established reporting and analytic tools and systems available to support work. Master the toolset and seek simplicity and visualization in for all presentation and conversation material

  • Work with IT and other internal and external resources to streamline and establish standard procedures for database manipulation and report/output preparation

  • Present stories and recommendations in a written and actionable format

  • Work with statisticians and outside resources to develop more complex analysis

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee day-to-day operations. Estimates and manages schedules, assign tasks, manages team resources, and coordinates team activity within larger schedules

  • Acts as mentor and motivator and encourages collaboration within the team

  • Works with direct reports to establish regular objectives and tracks their progress

  • Writes and delivers performance reviews and provides regular feedback to team members

  • Local travel between locations up to 30%

  • Qualifications*

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-4 years of experience in an analytic function

Other Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, IBM Core Metrics or other eCommerce analytic tools; Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point; Tableau

  • Working knowledge of Cognos, SAS or other analytical or business intelligence tool

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including senior leadership

  • Strong presentation skills in both formal and informal settings including ability to create compelling presentations in PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated relational database experience

  • Ability to transform complex data sets into simple visuals and dashboards for analytical and non-analytical teammates

  • Lets the numbers define the narrative rather than finding numbers to support a narrative

  • Is focused on finding the right answer even if it means being proven wrong

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM courses

  • ECommerce experience
